Pardon for asking, but what makes it a NP? 21K seems a little high to me.

About ten to fifteen years ago, you could pick up a Citroen DS decapotable (convertible) for about £8-10k. I very nearly bought one, on the basis that it had to go up in value, but didn't want to borrow money for something like that back then. Now they're worth well into six figures.

When I was 16 I took a job as an oil changer at a Midas repair shop where my dad worked. My very first day there a guy comes in on a saturday at about an hour and a half before closing. He has a 1996 Dodge Ram Van 2500 conversion high-roof. It was overheating due to some radiator and coolant line damage and he wanted it fixed that day so he could drive it to his new job out in washington. Well obviously that wasn't going to happen since we were closed on sundays and wouldn't be able to get all the parts in anyways. I offered him my first day's wages of about 75$ for the van and he laughed at me.....at first.....I left him my number and waited. The next day? I get a phone call! I test drive it, I pay the man, I get a pimp van. 75$. Parts ended up being about 350 or so, BUT IT HAD A FULL 26 GALLON TANK OF GAS! And this was 2006 summer gas prices where regular was over 4$ a gallon (yes, for all of you with short memories, gas has yet to get consistently more expensive under Obama than Bush Jr.). The running joke was that I pre-bought a tank of gas and got a van to go with it. Conversion vans? Best car for any 16-year old.

I like to think I got a good deal on my 06 Jetta TDI, 10K with 80K miles 2 years ago. Today they are still going for that price. Also helps mine is a package 2, and a manual.

I wish I would have bought a Fixed Roof Coupe (FRC) C5 Vette. It was white (really rare color) with 110K miles for $10k.

I've put about 5k miles on this in the last few months. Taking my old car to scrap with a bunch of other scrap I found laying around and expect to fully recover my investment, so...Free car!

There was someone on L4P a whole back who claimed to have bought an NSX with 7000 miles for $27k. He had pictures and everything.

Other than that, I bought my car for $5000 under KBB. I payed $4800.

That $400 BMW wagon I found a few hours from my house, ad said it ran and drove fine. I called and he said someone showed up with $400 about 15 mintues after the ad went up and drove off without checking a single thing other than if it started. The owner seemed shocked by this, but come on, any running car for $400 bucks is a NP, especially a BMW

My greatest was one that I sadly and stupidly passed on. I was all of 16 years old and had a chance to buy a 1957 Ford Thunderbird just like the one in the picture, but with badly faded paint for $300. I still cry today whenever I remember that lost opportunity. Sniffle.
